A particularly distinctive temple is the Kom Ombo temple, it’s actually made up of two sections. Horus, the falcon deity, is honoured on one side of the twin temple, and Sobek, the crocodile god, is honoured on the other. The temple contains a nilometer. There is still water nearby and a staircase that descends into the ground.
One of Egypt’s best-preserved temples is the Temple of Horus in Edfu. Ptolemy III founded it in 237 BC, and his successors continued to grow it.
You will be picked up at your accommodation for the second tour to the West Bank of Luxor to:
Valley of the Queens
Like the Valley of the Kings, the Valley of the Queens served as a burial site for the New Kingdom of ancient Egypt. Although nobles from the New Kingdom also had a place for their graves here, the majority of those buried in the Valley of the Queens were queens and children of the royal family.
Tombs of the Nobles
Some of the powerful courtiers and citizens are buried in the Tombs of the Nobles on the West Bank of Luxor. Over 400 noble tombs from the 6th Dynasty to the Greco-Roman era can be found on the hillsides opposite the Ramesseum.
Deir El Medina
The craftsmen who built the tombs in the Valley of the Kings lived in Deir el-Medina, also known as the Valley of the Artisans, which is located on the West Bank of Luxor. The stonemasons who dug the royal tombs out of the limestone hills and cliffs of the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens, as well as the sculptors, draughtsmen, and painters who decorated the dug tombs, all resided in Deir el Medina during the 18th to 20th Dynasties of the New Kingdom of Egypt.
After the West Bank tour you will again be served a delicious lunch at Malkata House, Chef Hassan will prepare some authentic Egyptian dishes that you have not tasted before.
